Coffee has always been socially challenged, and aside from Wolfy, the dog he grew up with, and Sushi, a dog he met when she was a puppy, he can’t seem to cope with the existence of others dogs Coffee was separated from his litter early, raised during quarantine, had a fearful outlook on life, and after two bad experiences with dogs as a puppy, he became dog reactive.
We tried 2 trainers and one behaviourist before Andrea reached out to us. And we were so thankful she did, because during that time, Coffee's reactivity was getting consistently worse, and nothing was helping. The biggest problem we felt was that Coffee was having a really hard time regulating his emotions around dogs, and none of the types of training before cognitive emotional training aimed at giving him that coping mechanism.
With Andrea's help, we are at a far better place today, and we feel Coffee's better at regulating his feelings even when other dogs are around. We still have a ways to go, but if we can find the time to be more consistent, I believe we will reach our goals!
